Mortal Kombat XL is a brand-new, expanded version of the gracious and gory fighting game from the NetherRealm Studios. A perfect combination of epic characters and mind-blowing mechanics produces an immersive action that will entertain you and your friends for a long time! Let`s get a closer look at features that we love about the Mortal Kombat universe and the XL chapter in particular.
The good, the bad, and the dead
The atmosphere of the inevitable violence breaks into your room through the screen. The simple idea behind this game — the violence at the maximum rate — combined with easy-performed combos makes this game an excellent choice for playing with your friend or even a big company. Even the rookie player will enjoy the unpredictable flow of the fight-to-death action and unstoppable button mashing! Advanced gamers will discover thousands of hitting combinations and will have a chance to bring their combat skill to a whole new level over time!
Fighters of all Realms and Generations Unite
Mortal Kombat XL made a breakthrough in its storytelling. The time has passed since the last tournament, described in the previous Mortal Kombat chapters and the restart MK: 9. Every character advanced both in their personal life and fighting techniques during the silent 25 years between Mortal Kombat 9 and MKX. The new generations of the warriors emerged. You will meet sons and daughters of well-known fighters, as well as the older generation itself. This shake-up breathed a new life into the brutal plot of Mortal Kombat.
History repeats itself
The mechanics of older Mortal Kombat games was brought back. A relief for old-school fans. Thanks to simplicity and intensity of the game, players receive some high-octane action as well as hours of exciting gameplay. We will see characters we admire for decades, as well as old good game features that have been discarded in MK: Apocalypse and some other titles. Among these are the 2D stage, which means you won`t be able to go in circles on the battle arenas now, and fatalities will become cinematic, ultimately bloody cut scenes with gore all over the floor. Different types of finishing moves like brutalities (hello, dear Mortal Kombat 3: Ultimate) and pit (when you are killing an opponent with the “help” of the background) has returned.
Size does matter
Comparing to MK:X, the new version has some awesome perks. These includes some fantastic-looking skins for our favorite characters and an expanded pool of fighters. You are going to meet 7 new characters, i.g: Leatherface, Alien, Predator (all three from the famous film franchise), as well as Tanya, Bo Rai Cho, Tri-Borg (consists of 3 famous cyborgs: Smoke, Sektor and Cyrax) and Tremor (from MK universe). Players who pre-ordered the Mortal Kombat X could play as Goro in 1v1, and he’s available for every owner of MK:XL. Speaking about skin packs, they add extraordinary looks to all the characters. Imagine Sub-Zero wearing ear-flaps hat or Ermac dressed like a mummy awaken from its eternal sleep.
Missed Scorpion? Meet Scorpions!
Every character has three different versions. For example, Sub-Zero, a blue ninja, who uses ice as his main weapon, has 3 alternative combat styles: Cryomancer, Unbreakable and Grandmaster. The first one gives Sub-Zero a wider variety of ice weapons. The second adds ice shield and ice armor to your arsenal, making you more durable to any damage. The third provides you with an ability to create ice clones that freeze enemies. Each version of Sub-zero has its own moves and combos, making each round special for players! And those are possibilities for only one of 33 game characters!
